Lana and Lex’s romance gave Kristin Kreuk and Michael Rosenbaum the opportunity to share many scenes in season six. “I’m going to go out on a limb here and say Kristin really enjoyed it,” Michael Rosenbaum laughs. “She did. She came up to me one day and said, ‘I really like working with you,’ and it meant a lot. We hadn’t worked together a great deal during the first few seasons. I’m a bit of a goof, and she’s very calm, so we’re two different people. It took until season five or six for us to really start to appreciate each other, and it helped that we finally got the chance to really work together, because we hadn’t done that before.”
Rosenbaum enjoys Kreuk’s company, and found her presence on set really helped his performance. “I really like her, I think she’s a really nice woman,” he says. “She has some great moments. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody give me off camera what she gave me. When she was off camera, in a scene where I was supposed to be upset, she’d cry. I was blown away. She’d really be crying. I’d look at her, and say, ‘I love you. You’re so cool. Thank you for doing that.’ She made me a better actor, there’s no doubt about it. She was very supportive, and she brought out a lot of great things in me, and I hope I did that for her as well. I really appreciate her, and I think she’s great.”
